Make sure that you have a valid Minecraft account. Now, get the launcher and run Minecraft Version 1.7.10 once. You can do this by opening up the launcher, and pressing 'New Profile'
on the bottom left of the launcher. Next, find the dropdown box that says 'Use Version', open the dropdown box. Select 'Release 1.7.10'. You can give this profile a name if you want, but after the first run this profile
won't be needed anymore. Press 'Save Profile ', make sure the profile is selected in the profile selection in the bottom left, and press 'Play'. Once Minecraft is loaded up, you can close it up again. Your
Minecraft is now ready for Forge installation. Close down your Minecraft launcher.
Next, head over to this page and download the 1.7.10 recommended installer (sorry for the ad, it's Forge's direct link, I can't post shortcuts).
Save it, and keep in mind where you saved it.
Last thing you'll need is the zip file containing mods and config. You can download it from the Jstylezzz Fileserver here. Make sure to save it someplace you don't
Getting Things Installed
- Get your Forge installer and run it. If you haven't changed any settings while installing Minecraft, leaving the default installation path selected should work fine. Now, just install Forge.
- Now that Forge is installed, run your Minecraft launcher. If you have a look in the profile selector in the left bottom of the launcher, you will notice that there is a new profile named 'Forge'. Select
that profile and click 'Edit Profile'. Once the profile editor is open, it is a good idea to change the name from 'Forge' to 'J97 Modpack' or anything like that, just so you know which Minecraft you're actually launching. Now,
look under the profile name. There is an option called 'Game Directory'. Make sure the checkbox in front of it is checked, and add '\J97Modpack' at the end of the line. It will look something like this: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\J97Modpack.
- Now get the j97modpack_files.zip, and open it. Navigate to 'C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft', and create the folder 'J97Modpack'. Now, go into that folder and place the 'mods' and 'config' folder
from the archive into the folder. Also copy the 'servers.dat' file, so that the server appears in your Multiplayer menu instantly. Your local 'J97Modpack' folder will now have the folders 'mods' and 'config' in there, as well as
the 'servers.dat' file.
- Close the folder, close the zip archive. You can now run the 'J97 Modpack' profile in your launcher. Once the game is loaded, click the 'Multiplayer' button. The server will be right there.
